My neck started to feel better last night, so I treated myself to a run this afternoon. I normally listen to podcasts with the Couch to 5K running program on them — they were recommended to me by a friend, and they’re incredibly helpful. But today was an unplanned bonus run. Today, I listened to music.
Today’s Top Tunes for Running*
Do You Wanna Date My Avatar, The Guild
As Cool As I Am, Dar Williams
Independent Women, Destiny’s Child
Theme song from ENTER THE DRAGON, Lalo Schifrin
Theme song from Mortal Kombat, Moral Kombat Soundtrack
Força, Nelly Furtado
Flaming Red, Patty Griffin (videos only have slow version)
I’m sure I’ll respond to different songs on different days, but today, I was clearly in the mood to kick some ass.

I found out recently that if you actually know how to use GarageBand (which I do not, but Chris does!) you can overlay a vanilla version of the Couch to 5K podcast on top of whatever music you want to listen to, effectively making your own Couch to 5K soundtrack.
One day, I will figure out how to actually do that. I did find the vanilla podcast though, so there's step 1 done.
Ooh, I wish I'd known that before — that would have been awesome!
But I'm kind of using music as a carrot to get me through the program. Like, if I make it to 5K, I can listen to whatever I want. It's a nice added incentive.
