Oslo came home this morning. Within five minutes of being home, he was eating, purring, begging for scruffles, and wanting to play. In fact, he’s been like that ever since. It’s the best, most wonderful sight in the world.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank the amazing vets who saved our little boy.

First, Dr. Chapman at Animal Emergency Care Center in Woodland Hills did the initial diagnosis and conducted the surgery. He was honest, direct, smart, and kind. I felt comfortable trusting him with our little boy’s life. The rest of the overnight staff were also kind and efficient. They communicated so well with our vet — calling before I called, making sure the paperwork was transferred each morning. It was such a relief not to worry about any of that. They made a horrible situation so much more bearable.

And second, the folks at Animal Clinic of Encino, especially our vet Dr. Tina Chang. They were just as on top of transferring records and information as the emergency clinic. They took good care of our boy, got his fever down, and gave us invaluable information. They answered every question, never rushed, and made us feel like they were just as concerned with our boy as we were.

Oslo isn’t out of the woods yet, but I feel like these doctors and their staffs gave him the best possible chance he could have. We will always be grateful for that.

Here, Oslo is demanding I play with his wire toy:

    1. Cairo is a hissing machine currently, but there was some progress last night. They're both sleeping on the bed this morning!

  1. How wonderful!

They probably *did* care as much for Oslo (or at least as close as you can get without living with him) as much as you do. That's part of what makes a vet choose that path.

    1. True. I often with my human doctors were as good as my vets, though. I rarely feel this confident dealing with them!
