Korra Poster!

My friend, the talented YA writer Amaris Glass, is all kinds of awesome. At the recent SCBWI conference in LA, she gave me what has to be one of my favorite gifts EVER: a signed poster from the upcoming Legend of Korra TV show currently in production. (Legend of Korra is a followup to one of my favorite TV shows of all time (animated or not), Avatar: The Last Airbender.)

From 2011 Photobook

Yes, they even drew pictures. Yes, one of those pictures is of that AWESOME POLAR DOG MOUNT that I freaked out about a few weeks ago.

Speaking of freaking out, when Amaris gave me this at Kidlit Drink Night, I squealed. And jumped up and down. And my eyes tried to pop out of my head. (This is not hyperbole. There were witnesses, but thankfully no one with a videocamera.)

Soon, this will be framed and hanging on my wall, where I may drool over it as often as I’d like (meaning OFTEN) while awaiting the start of Legend of Korra.

    • Up top:

      Bryan Konietzko

      Michael Dante DiMartino

      On the bottom:

      Ryuki Hung (Supervising Producer/Director)

      Joaquim Dos Santos (Co-Executive Producer/Director)

According to Amaris, the four of them are "the guys."

      • I'm familiar with Konietzko and DiMartino from the show. Not as familiar with Ryuki Hung, but I watched the Korra panel from Comic-Con on youtube, and they showed off a lot of his designs. And I know Dos Santos did work for the last show, and the work he's done for the Justice League cartoons and the direct-to-DVD shorts for some of the DC animated movies has been awesome.

Wow, that poster is a treasure!

  • Hee! I'm so glad you like it! I can't wait for you to see it so we can talk about it. My feelings are violent and mostly uncorroborated concerning some of the characters, and I look forward to seeing who agrees with me (I know I won't be the only one who feels this way!).

    • I can't wait to see it either! I predict many long conversations over coffee discussing each of the characters you like and dislike, and why. :-D

    • Oops, I seem to have posted both the typo version and revised version of this comment. It's so exciting I forgot to spell!!

  • I know this might come off as a little strange and possibly rude but please, do not take it that way. I have been looking for a piece such as this for my girlfriend for a while but have been striking out lately but coincidentally her name is also Jenn and I was wondering if there would be anyway you would be willing to let this go for a price? I just want to get her gift she will appreciate. Please let me know, but id understand if you say no. Thank you.

    • Hi Nick! The print was a gift from a dear friend and I couldn’t possibly part with it, even if I wanted to. Keep looking and good luck! Best, Jenn
