Cruelty-Free Products

C

I am always on the lookout for new cruelty-free products. Recently, I’ve found two brands I really like, so I thought I’d pass them along. (And maybe convince you to share some suggestions with me, too.)

Alba Botanica (available at Walgreens)

I’m using the Pineapple Enzyme Facial Cleanser and the Aloe & Green Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer. I’ve also used the Plumeria Shampoo. All of them smell fantastic! I am really in love with the first two. Using them actually makes me happy. All Alba Botanica products are more expensive than I’d like, so I’m open to alternatives.

Yes to Carrots (also available at Walgreens)

I’ve just started experimenting with this brand, and have only tried the Yes to Tomatoes Shampoo and the Yes to Cucumbers Shampoo. Both work amazingly well — my hair has never felt so clean and healthy! They smell a little more “perfumy” than I like, but are a little bit cheaper than the Alba Botanica hair products. (Though still too pricey.)

These are my success stories in cruelty-free products — there are many more products that I wouldn’t recommend at all. How about you guys? Can you put me onto any great products? I particularly like products I can buy locally and that aren’t going to bankrupt me, but I’m willing to try almost anything.

Cruelty-free Pet Food?

I’m also hoping some of you can point out some good, cruelty-free pet food brands for me to try. I realize I may have to order these online, which is fine. My little boy doesn’t go through food very fast anyway. I got a huge list from Caring Consumer, but I don’t really know where to start. Any suggestions welcome! (As long as you don’t suggest I make all his food fresh. That’s just not going to happen…for either of us.)

Thanks so much!

  • Glad you’re saying Yes! to clean and healthy hair while saying no to products chock full of preservatives and animal products.

We’d love to send you some free samples of your Yes To Carrots products, just as a way of saying thanks.
