Tales of the Chinese Zodiac

As an experiment, I wrote a series of 12 “short-short” stories inspired by the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac. Each story is less than 500 words long. In 2005, Strange Horizons ran one of my “Tales of the Chinese Zodiac” every month. Tropism Press has released a chapbook of the original twelve stories and illustrations, plus three new stories.

This tale rings as true as a temple bell. More, it is wise, and allows the reader a chance to laugh at folly. A perfect fable.”

…a delightful piece with a perfect tang of magic.”
—Aimee Poynter on “Horse,” Tangent Online

And for all the Swedish speakers out there… a review of the series. Let me know if it’s positive or negative, okay?
