This may be my favorite start to a new year ever.
Nope, I haven’t sold a novel or gone back to work at the studio yet. But the resultant free time has created a tremendous opportunity: the time to reconnect with some of the amazing women in my life.
It’s about spirit. And inspiration. And love, usually unconditional. It’s about fierce friendships, and the safety to be yourself no matter how long it’s been. It’s about sharing dreams and fears, and sometimes chocolate.
Already, I’m in love with 2010, because I love my friends and 2010 is handing them to me for pennies: the price of a cup of coffee, a parking meter, a drive, a plane ticket.
I’m off to Dallas tomorrow morning.
