Symphony of Science

My friend Rick just introduced me to this website: Symphony of Science. According to the website, their mission is “to deliver scientific knowledge and philosophy in musical form.”

In reality, I found many of their songs inspiring, beautiful, thought-provoking, and profound in ways I can’t explain. But who knows? Maybe you’ll find them cheesy. That’s okay, too. But did I mention the scientists? Scientists rock. (I have a particular weakness for Carl Sagan.)

Without further ado, here are a few videos. Check out Symphony of Science for more — including lyrics and more information on each song.

“We Are All Connected”:

“The Unbroken Thread” (containing Jane Goodall and the word “wuzzy”):

“The Poetry of Reality”:

Now tell me. Can you honestly watch those, and not want to go out and learn about science, examine the world, or write a science fiction or fantasy story? I can’t.

Ooh, thanks for the reminder, Jenn! I found this site after I finished reading Ralph Leighton's "Tuva or Bust" and was hunting up Internet video of Richard Feynman. Love it!
